Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Jurnal Galen: Jurnal Ilmu Farmasi dan Kesehatan is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in all aspects of the publication process. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved, including authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher, PT Pustaka Cendekia Publisher, which operates under the Yayasan Pendidikan Genlita Indonesia in collaboration with the Asosiasi Pengelola Jurnal Indonesia (APJI). Publishing in a peer-reviewed journal is a crucial component of developing credible and respected scientific knowledge. Therefore, all contributors to Jurnal Galen are expected to adhere to the highest academic integrity and ethical publishing standards.

As the publisher, PT Pustaka Cendekia Publisher is responsible for ensuring that the publication process is conducted professionally and transparently, free from any commercial influence on editorial decisions. Additionally, the journal is committed to maintaining open communication with other journals and publishers when necessary to uphold ethical principles in academia. The editor-in-chief of Jurnal Galen is responsible for deciding which articles to publish, based on recommendations from the editorial board and peer reviewers while ensuring compliance with legal standards concerning defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts solely based on their academic merit, without discrimination based on the author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnicity, nationality, or political views. Confidentiality is maintained throughout the review process, with manuscript details only shared with authorized individuals such as the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial team, and the publisher. Unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts must not be used in the personal research of editorial board members or reviewers without explicit written permission from the author.

This journal follows a single-blind peer review process, in which the reviewers’ identities are kept confidential from the authors, while the authors’ identities are known to the reviewers. Peer reviewers play a crucial role in supporting editorial decisions and assisting authors in improving their manuscripts. They are expected to provide objective and constructive evaluations within the specified timeframe. If a reviewer is unable to complete the review on time, they must inform the editor promptly so that the manuscript can be reassigned to a more suitable reviewer. All reviewed manuscripts are treated with strict confidentiality and must not be discussed with others without permission from the editor-in-chief. Reviewers are also responsible for identifying relevant references that have not been cited and notifying the editor of any substantial similarity or possible plagiarism in the manuscript under review. Furthermore, reviewers must avoid conflicts of interest that could compromise the objectivity of their evaluation, including personal, professional, or institutional relationships with the authors or organizations related to the manuscript.

For authors, submitted manuscripts must provide an accurate account of the research conducted, with verifiable data and an objective discussion of its significance. Fabrication, falsification, or intentional misrepresentation of research data is unethical and unacceptable. Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original and properly cite any sources that have influenced their study. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is considered unethical and is strictly prohibited. Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research, and the corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript before submission. If the research involves hazardous materials, human subjects, or animals, the authors must clearly disclose any potential risks and confirm that ethical guidelines have been followed. Additionally, any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of the manuscript must be transparently disclosed.

If a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered in a published article, the author is responsible for promptly notifying the journal editor and cooperating in correcting or retracting the paper. By adhering to these principles, Jurnal Galen: Jurnal Ilmu Farmasi dan Kesehatan is committed to maintaining its reputation as a high-quality and reliable source of scientific knowledge in the fields of pharmacy and health sciences.
